Overnight Incidents – August 6, 2020

Critical Accident – Groesbeck and E. 8 Mile Road

Preliminary on August 6, 2020 at approximately 6 a.m. in the area of Groesbeck and E. 8 Mile Road, a 23-year old female was traveling east on E. 8 Mile Road in a blue GMC Terrain when she collided with the driver (26-year old male) of a Chevy Impala who was turning south onto Groesbeck from E. 8 Mile. As a result of the collision, both drivers were transported to the local hospital. The 26-year old male victim was listed in critical condition. The 23-year old female driver was listed in stable condition. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. Non Fatal Shooting 

Preliminary on August 5, 2020 at approximately 8:30 p.m., in an unknown location, the 18-year old male victim sustained a gunshot wounds to the body. The victim drove himself to the 11900 block of Gratiot for assistance where he was transported to the hospital for treatment and listed in temporary serious. Suspect is unknown at this time. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. Double Shooting – Schoolcraft and Burt Road 

Preliminary on August 5, 2020 at approximately 8 p.m. in the area of Schoolcraft and Burt Road, a 28-year old male victim and his female passenger (25-years old) were stopped at a stoplight at Schoolcraft and Burt when an unknown suspect in white Sudan pulled up and an occupant inside fired shots, striking them both. After the shooting the suspect fled west on Schoolcraft. Both victims were transported to the hospital for treatment. The male victim was listed in critical condition, the female victim in temp serious condition. Suspect is unknown at this time. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. Non Fatal Shooting – 12000 block of Monica 

Preliminary on the evening of August 5, 2020 in the 12000 block of Monica, a 15-year old, was playing with a weapon when it discharged and struck his 14-year old brother. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in temporary serious condition. The weapon was recovered.  The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated.
