FATAL ACCIDENT
Preliminary on March 7, 2020 at approximately 8:40 p.m. in the area of W. Outer and Asbury Park. A driver of a DDOT was traveling westbound on W Outer Drive when he allegedly hit a 69-year old female victim that was in the middle of the street. Medic responded and transported the victim to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. CRITICAL ACCIDENT
Preliminary on March 8, 2020 at approximately 3:25 a.m. in the 20500 block of Mound, the driver of a Chrysler 300, was traveling south on Mound from 8 Mile when the 34-year old female driver of the Chrysler 300 allegedly lost control of her vehicle and struck the building in the 20500 block of Mound. As a result, the vehicle caught fire. DFD units responded and extinguished the fire. The driver and her two occupants (42-year old male, and 35-year old female) were injured. Medics responded and transported them to the hospital where they were listed in critical condition. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. DEATH INVESTIGATION
Preliminary on March 8, 2020 at approximately 2:55 pm, a body of a unknown female (50s-60s) was observed floating in the Detroit River near 100 River Place. Harbormaster responded and recovered the victim. Medics responded and pronounced the victim deceased. The victim was wearing a purple coat, purple sweat pants, red sweater and black gym shoes, with black and gray pants. Medical Examiners Office will determine the cause of death and the circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated.
