Overnight Incidents – Feb. 29 & March 1, 2020

Non-Fatal Shooting

Preliminary on March 1, 2020 at approximately 12:30 a.m., in the 19700 block of Littlefield, the known suspect and the victim were in the basement of the location. The suspect was holding a gun when it accidentally discharged, striking the 46-year old male victim in the body. He was transported to a local hospital by medics and was listed in critical condition. Officers observed the suspect standing outside a couple doors down and arrested him without incident. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. Hit and Run accident

Preliminary on March 1, 2020 at approximately 1:10 a.m., in the area of W. McNichols and Stahelin, the 30-year old female victim was crossing the street when she was struck by an unknown suspect driving a black Escalade, or Yukon with heavy front end damage. The victim was transported to a local hospital by medics and is listed in critical condition. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. Carjacking

Preliminary on March 1, 2020 at approximately 4:00 a.m. in the area of Whitcomb and W. Chicago, the 24-year old male victim was stopped at a traffic light when the suspects approached on foot and demanded his vehicle. The suspect then escaped in his red 2009 Dodge Caliber. No injuries were reported. Suspect #1 described as a black male, 6’0″, wearing a black ski mask, blue hooded sweater and blue jeans, armed. Suspect #2 described as a black male, wearing a ski mask, black hooded sweater and black jeans. Double shooting (1 fatal)

Preliminary on March 1, 2020 at approximately 2:55 p.m., in the area of Orangelawn and Beaverland, the two male victims, both 28-years old, were sitting inside of a 2017 Jeep Cherokee when the unknown suspect in a silver Toyota pulled up and fired shots striking both victims, fatally injuring the victim in the driver’s seat. The other victim was able to exit the Jeep Cherokee and drive himself to a local hospital in another vehicle. He was listed in serious condition. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. Non-Fatal Shooting

Preliminary on March 1, 2020 at approximately 4:40 p.m., in the area of E. Warren and Beaconsfield, 23-year old male victim was walking when he accidentally bumped into the suspect. The suspect then turned and fired a shot, striking the victim in the body. He was listed in stable condition. Suspect described as a black male blue True Religion jeans, blue jacket, wheat Timberland boots. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated.
