Non-Fatal Shooting

Preliminary on January 22, 2020, an 18-year old female victim walked into the 9^th Precinct and reported that she had been shot. The incident allegedly occurred on January 20, 2020 at approximately 3 p.m. in the area of Marlow and Puritan. The victim reported that she was sitting on a friend’s vehicle when she heard gunshots and realized she was shot. She was privately conveyed to a local hospital for treatment. Unknown suspect at this time. Investigators are investigating. Armed Robbery

Preliminary on January 22, 2020, at approximately 7:30 p.m., an unknown male suspect (36-year old male) entered a local business in the 1100 block of W. Warren. Once inside, he allegedly approached the counter, produced a weapon and demanded merchandise from the cashier. The cashier complied, giving the suspect over 30 IPhones and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. After taking the items, the suspect exit the location through a rear door and fled on foot. As officers from the 3^rd Precinct were arriving, they observed the suspect fleeing, and pursued him on foot. The suspect was subsequently apprehended and taken into custody. Officers recover the stolen property as well. The suspect was transported to the Detroit Detention Center for processing.

Non-Fatal Shooting 

Preliminary on January 22, 2020, at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the 8500 block of Mark Twain, a 21-year old male sustained a gunshot wound to the body. Witnesses heard gunshots in the area, looked outside and observing the victim lying on the ground in front of the house. Medic responded and transported the victim to hospital where he was listed in critical condition. The circumstances surrounding this incident are unknown and still being investigated. Child Abuse

Preliminary Investigators are investigating allegations of child abuse and neglect of three minor children by two adults suspects in the 5200 block of Berkshire. The children’s mother (29 years old) along with the father (31 years old) of one of the children, have been taken into custody from the scene. Both suspects were transported to the Detroit Detention Center for processing. Child Protective Services are involved and investigating along with the Detroit Police Department’s Child Abuse Section. The children were taken to a local hospital for evaluation. CPS will be responsible for the placement of the children. No further information at this time.
