Detroit, MI – On Thursday, January 16, 2020, the Detroit Police Department’s Special Victims Unit accepted a heartfelt donation of more than 750 stuffed animals from Holly Hutton, Music Director and Co-Host of WYCD, 99.5 Detroit’s Country Radio. The donation will be used to provide comfort to children who have been impacted by child abuse and domestic violence.
“My goal is to make sure the Detroit Police Department has enough stuffed animals to help children whose lives have been impacted by domestic violence and abuse,” Hutton said.
Members of the Detroit Police were on-hand to accept the very special delivery today at Detroit Public Safety Headquarters including Deputy Chief Marlon Wilson, Captain Stacy Cavin of the Special Victims Unit, Lt. Dawn Engel of Domestic Violence and Patti Kukula, Executive Director of the Detroit Public Safety Foundation.
“This generous donation gives us a way to connect with children in need,” Captain Cavin said.
